Shiho Ishikawa (石川 志保 Ishikawa Shiho) is a student at Kurôzu High School and a close friend of Kirie Goshima whose status and whereabouts are unknown. Her last appearance is shortly before the storm that wrecks Kurôzu-Cho, making it uncertain whether she was a casualty of the hurricane, moved away in its aftermath or stayed in Kurôzu-Cho to succumb to its many newly awoken horrors.
Appearance[]
Shiho has shoulder-length black hair that curls outwards at the edges with bangs hanging over her eyebrows, light-colored eyes or dark-colored eyes and she is shorter than Kirie Goshima.
Her appearance changes very little in the movie, except that she is taller than Kirie.
Personality[]
Given that she is primarily a background character, Shiho is never fully characterized, but it's safe to say she was a good person. In Jack-In-The-Box, she seems slightly worried about the state of Kurôzu-Cho, but is only mildly affected by the recent happenings, appearing skeptic about the decision to bury bodies instead of continuing to burn them, seemingly disregarding the visible display of apparent spirits in the cremated ashes just a few days prior. She is irritated by Mitsuru Yamaguchi's pranks, calling him immature and childish. She often accompanies Kirie Goshima, be it on her way home or during her hospitalization, implying the two are fairly good friends, if not best friends since the demise of Azami Kurotani.
Etymology[]
- The name Shiho means "will, purpose" (志) (shi) and "protection, guarantee" (保) (ho).
- Shiho's surname Ishikawa means "stone, volume measure" (石) (ishi) and "river, stream" (川) (kawa).
